Generating Webex Contact Center Credentials for Level AI
Last updated: September 30, 2026
Overview
To connect your Webex Contact Center (Webex CC) environment to Level AI, you need to create a Webex Integration and generate an OAuth access token. Level AI uses these credentials to securely read your contact center configuration, tasks, and user information so conversations can be ingested into the platform.
This guide walks you through creating the integration, generating the tokens, and the values to share with the Level AI team.
Before you begin: You will need a Webex admin account for your organization, and access to a terminal where you can run a curl command.
Steps
Step 1: Open the Webex Developer Apps page
Go to https://developer.webex.com/my-apps and click Create a New App.
Step 2: Create the Integration
Select Integration and fill in the following:
Name: LevelAI
Redirect URI: https://localhost
Scopes: select these three
cjp:config_read
cjp:task_read
spark:people_read
Save the app. Copy your Client ID and Client Secret and store them somewhere safe. You will share them with Level AI in Step 7.
Step 3: Copy the OAuth Authorization URL
On the app detail page, you will see a pre-built OAuth Authorization URL. Copy it and open it in your browser.
Step 4: Log in and approve
Sign in with your Webex admin account and approve the requested permissions when prompted.
Step 5: Copy the authorization code from the URL
Your browser will redirect to a URL like https://localhost?code=XXXX... and display an error page. This is expected.
Copy the value of the code parameter from the browser's address bar.
Step 6: Generate the access and refresh tokens
Run the following command, replacing the three placeholder values with your own:
curl -X POST https://webexapis.com/v1/access_token \
-H "Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded" \
-d "grant_type=authorization_code" \
-d "client_id=YOUR_CLIENT_ID_FROM_STEP_2" \
-d "client_secret=YOUR_CLIENT_SECRET_FROM_STEP_2" \
-d "code=YOUR_CODE_FROM_STEP_5" \
-d "redirect_uri=https://localhost"
Note: Run this within a few minutes of completing Step 5. The authorization code expires quickly. If it expires, repeat Steps 3 to 5 to get a new code.
The response will include an access_token and a refresh_token.
Step 7: Share the credentials with Level AI
Share the values listed in the table below with the Level AI team through a secure channel.
Fields to Share with Level AI
Field | Where to find it | Description |
|---|---|---|
client_id | Webex app detail page (Step 2) | Unique identifier for the LevelAI integration |
client_secret | Webex app detail page (Step 2) | Secret key for the LevelAI integration |
access_token | curl response (Step 6) | Token used to authenticate API requests to Webex CC |
refresh_token | curl response (Step 6) | Token used to renew the access token when it expires |
Please share these credentials only through a secure method agreed with your Level AI contact, and avoid sending them over plain email or public channels.
