Ringcentral <> LevelAI Integration

1. Overview

This document outlines the requirements and procedures for integrating RingCentral Voice (RingEx) with LevelAI. The integration enables LevelAI to access and ingest voice data for analysis. The process involves creating a verified application within the RingCentral Developer Portal, configuring specific permission scopes, and generating JSON Web Token (JWT) credentials for server-to-server authentication.

2. Process for Generating Credentials

To establish a secure connection between RingCentral and LevelAI, an application must be created to generate the necessary API keys and tokens.

2.1 Create an App

  1. Access the Developer Portal: Navigate to the RingCentral Developer Portal to begin the application creation process.

  2. Define Permissions (Scopes): During the app creation process, you must select specific scopes to allow LevelAI to access the necessary data. Ensure the following scopes are enabled:

    • ReadCallLog: Required to access historical call data.

    • ReadCallRecording: Required to download audio files for transcription and analysis.

    • ReadAccounts: Required to verify account details.

  3. Retrieve App Credentials: Once the app is created, the system will generate a Client ID and Client Secret. Save these credentials securely, as they are required for the configuration steps below.

2.2 JWT Authentication Setup

RingCentral uses JSON Web Token (JWT) for secure server-to-server authentication.

  1. Generate JWT: Follow the instructions in the RingCentral documentation to create a JWT credential.

  2. Store Token: Save the generated JWT Token. This will be used in conjunction with the Client ID and Secret to authenticate API requests.

3. Configuration & API Reference

3.1 Required Configuration Values

To finalize the integration, the following values must be configured in the LevelAI system. Please ensure the following data points are available:

The RingCentral platform URL.
Default: https://platform.ringcentral.com

ACCOUNT_ID

The target account identifier.
Default: ~ (Tilde represents the currently authenticated account).

 

3.2 API Usage

LevelAI utilizes the following RingCentral APIs to facilitate this integration:

  • Call Log API: Used to retrieve metadata regarding calls.

  • Get Call Recording API: Used to fetch the actual audio data for processing.
