Data Exports: Level's Snowflake to Azure Storage Container
Last updated: June 18, 2026
This article outlines the steps that you must take to enable seamless data exports from Level's Snowflake environment to your designated Azure Storage Container. By following these instructions, you'll be granting Level AI the necessary permissions to securely transfer data into your Azure storage container
Phase 1: Providing Azure Access Details to Level AI
To initiate the data export setup, we require specific identifiers for your Azure environment. Please provide the following information to your dedicated Level AI Account Executive or Point of Contact:
Azure Tenant ID: This unique identifier represents your organization within Azure. You can typically find this under Azure Portal > Azure Active Directory.
Azure Storage Account Name: This is the name you assigned to your Azure Storage account where the data exported to your Level AI instance will be stored. E.g.,
levelaistorageAzure Storage Container Name: This is the specific container within your storage account where the data will land. Think of it as a folder within your storage account. E.g.,
contactcenterdata
Once we receive these details, we will provide you with the following:
Snowflake Authentication Consent URL: This unique URL will allow you to grant Snowflake's managed identity permission to access your Azure tenant.
Snowflake Azure Service Principal Name: This is a specific identity within Azure that represents our Snowflake instance. You will use this to grant the necessary data access permissions.
Phase 2: Authorizing Snowflake Access to your Azure Tenant
This involves granting Snowflake the initial authorization to interact with your Azure environment.
Once you receive the Snowflake Authentication Consent URL (it will look something like
https://login.microsoftonline.com/...), please open it in your web browser.Log in with your Azure administrator credentials for your Azure Tenant.
You will see a request for permissions. Click Accept to authorize the Snowflake- managed identity to access your specified Azure Storage Account and Container.
NOTE
By accepting this consent, you are granting Snowflake (managed by Level AI), permission to perform actions on your behalf within the designated Azure Storage Account and Container. This is a necessary step for the data export process to function correctly.
Phase 3: Granting IAM Role to Snowflake in Azure
Once, authorization is successfully completed, you will need to grant Snowflake permission to write data to your Azure Storage Container. This is done through Azure's Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
In the Azure Portal, navigate to the Storage Account you provided earlier (
levelaistoragein our example). In the left-hand navigation menu of your Storage Account, click Access Control (IAM).
Click the + Add button at the top and select Add role assignment from the dropdown menu.
In the Role dropdown, select Storage Blob Data Contributor. This role grants the necessary permissions to read, write, and delete blobs (data files) within your storage account.
Set the Assign access to field to
User, group, or service principal. In the Select membersfield, paste the Snowflake Azure Service Principal Name that the Level AI team provided to you.
Click the Review + assign button at the bottom. On the next screen, click Assign to finalize the role assignment. This step ensures Snowflake (managed by Level AI), has the specific permission to securely write your interaction data (call transcripts, interaction logs, etc.) into your designated Azure storage location.
Once you have successfully completed all the above steps, please confirm the following to your Level AI Account Executive/ Point of Contact:
Your acceptance of the Consent URL.
The IAM role has been assigned to the Snowflake user.
Upon receiving your confirmation, we will proceed with configuring the storage integration on our end and conduct thorough testing of the data export setup to ensure everything is working smoothly.
If you have any questions or encounter any issues, please reach out to your Level AI Account Executive/ Point of Contact.
